First class result in Blackpool!
Manx Concert Brass have added yet another Trophy to their ever growing collection by achieving 4th place in their debut contest in the 1st Section of the North West Regional Championships in the Empress Ballroom, Winter Gardens, Blackpool. The band had spent the last few months coming to grips with 'Pentacle' composed by Graham Cole. The piece was subject to national debate as to whether 1st Section bands could rise to its fearsome musical challenges. Adjudicator Colin Hardy was suitably impressed by all the performances, especially the top 6 placed bands. He described Manx Concert Brass as giving a good solid performance. Musical Director, Ian Clague MBE expressed how delighted and proud he was of the band's accomplishment, especially having faced daunting competitors as newcomers to the 1st Section.
The band are now back down to earth and are busy rehearsing for the Manx Music Festival and also their Annual Gala Concert which is taking place in the Villa Marina Royal Hall on Saturday 18th July.
