Manx Concert Brass and members of the Manx Youth Band Support this yearís Armed Forces Day Parade and Service
Last Sunday, 24th June, saw the Annual Armed Forces Day Parade along Douglas Promenade followed by the Service in the Villa Marina Royal Hall in the presence many Island dignitaries including His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, the Mayor of Douglas, the Chief Minister and many other members of the House of Keys.
The music in the service was again led by Manx Concert Brass with some members of the Manx Youth Band joining them.
Included in the Parade this year, representing the organisation, were a number of Manx Youth Band players. This is the first time that any of them would have had to play and march at the same time. With a short rehearsal with Ian earlier in the week they did the Band and themselves proud.
Well done and thank you to everyone who took part, especially the younger players on the march, who looked very smart.
This is yet another of the very important engagements in the Bandís diary and it again highlights the organisations continued commitment to support the Islandís Community, playing at such a high profile event.
