Manx National Youth Band Announces World Renowned Musicians for 2007 Gala Concert

Manx Youth and Concert Brass enjoyed success this last weekend at the Manx Music Festival winning the Test Piece, the March and Hymn and Entertainment Concert against some very tough competition. The adjudicator, Malcolm Brownbill, commented that the band movement on the Isle of Man was extremely healthy and urged more bands to travel to the UK to compete.

There is no rest for the Band however, as rehearsals start for their Annual Gala Concert at the Villa Marina on Saturday 14th July 2007. This year the band has pleasure in announcing two guest soloists, Sheona White and her husband Stuart Lingard. Sheona is regarded by many as the finest tenor horn player of her generation and is a former winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Musician of the Year, whilst Stuart has the enviable entry on his CV of having played principal cornet with the world renowned Yorkshire Building Society Band. Tickets are available at the Villa Marina box office.
